The Cambodia Christian Business Network has been in partnership with Partners Worldwide (PW) since February 2020. Last week, PW held a Webinar with Mr. Mason Tan as the speaker, Founder and CEO of Garden Impact Investment. The topic was “Christian Lens and Spiritual Wellbeing for Leaders During Crisis”. Indeed, it is not only a healthcare but also a major financial crisis. The expectation is that it will take another 24 months to recover, the high unemployment rate being a major hurdle.
In the face of this, Mr. Tan encouraged the us to take this time for self-reflection, for building our spiritual, mental, and emotional health. Not only this, as followers of Christ, we can practice grace by walking-the-talk. If we are in debt to others, it is our responsibility to honor this debt and pay it back. Loving our neighbor is not a circumstantial commandment, so when we speak with suppliers and customers, we need to practice lovingkindness.
In addition to this, there are 3 S’s we must practice:
- Servant Leadership: We are called to serve others, to have a servant’s heart.
- Stewardship: We are called to be a good steward of the resources God has given us; these are not for our personal gain but for sharing with others.
- Sacrifice: Not only money, but time and attention are to be used to reach out to others and show them God’s love.
Lastly, Mr. Tan also exhorted the us to continue in prayer while being humble, striving for holiness, and believing wholeheartedly that God will respond to us.
